"The camera doesn't think, it's the photographer's brain that thinks."
Willy Ronis
About me
Amateur photographer, it was during a first period, about twenty years ago, that I made a series of portraits (cf. Dysmorphobia ).
Currently, my activity is rather focused on animal and naturalistic photos , with a predilection for flowers.
The Cricket story series was born from an encounter with insects that have made their home in my house and that I have observed during several seasons. I sometimes had the impression that they were posing for me, but above all I found that these little animals were particularly photogenic and that there was little competition in this area. It seemed to me to be able to capture their expressions and I was also able to immortalize their different mutations over the months. Crickets go through different moults in their existence which gives them very different aspects. From larva to adulthood, they evolve through colors ranging from green to brown. Sometimes it happens that a youngster is already brown, which has happened this year. Among the various crickets stranded in my house, I had three females and one male. Females can be recognized by their size much larger than that of males.
The section called Exterior includes photos taken during walks or trips without any premeditation, but rather unexpectedly, when, by surprise, my eye was caught by a landscape that looked like a natural picture. The pictures of bird clouds in the sky were taken one evening when the sky turned into a frame for creative animals!
Regarding Flowers , these are again photos taken at random of encounters with flowers during walks. I find the flowers to be extremely photogenic. And as with humans, the most beautiful are not necessarily the ones that take the best light.
What matters to me in the photo is mainly the framing. I like above all the graphic side of an image. And then, of course, the light that provides the lighting that will make all the difference. If the portraits were taken with a camera and then reworked using software, the latest sets of photos were taken with my Samsung Galaxy phone.
